How to Put a QR Code on a Background Photo
In QR Gratis, open the "Backdrop" step, choose a photo (or drag and drop, or paste from the clipboard), then drag and resize the QR code directly on the preview. Card mode puts the code on a solid card (easiest to scan); Blend mode lets the photo show faintly through. Every change is re-scanned automatically so you know the result still reads.
Steps
- Make the QR code first. Fill in your link or other content in "Content", then style it in "Style".
- Choose a backdrop. In "Backdrop", pick a photo from your device or one of the built-in backdrops. Photos are processed on your device and never uploaded.
- Position it. In Result view, drag the code where you want it; scroll or pinch to resize, or use the quick-position grid.
- Pick a mode and canvas size. Choose Card or Blend, then a canvas size: match photo, 1:1, 4:5, 9:16 (stories), 16:9 or A4.
- Download. Check the scan badge says "Scans cleanly", then press "Download with backdrop".
Keeping it scannable
- The dots must be darker than what is behind them; avoid a light code over a light photo.
- Don't go too small: in social posts the code should cover at least a third of the image's short side.
- Blend mode looks more integrated but is more fragile; raise "Veil strength" if the badge says "Hard to read".

No. Your browser reads and composes the photo itself.
What resolution is the result?
Your original photo up to 4096 px on the long side, or the canvas size you choose (for example A4 at 300 dpi).
